After much deliberation about unit filler designs, I decided to continue the theme of captured Empire soldiers being marched north towards fates unknown. The result: another four slaves / captives have been built, based and undercoated in preparation for painting.
On top of that, I've managed to also assemble and undercoat the plastic sorcerer that I had on sprue. These plastic models are a cinch to assemble and have enough detail to make painting them a very appealing prospect.
Finally, I've also been re-basing the Champion / Unit filler for my unit of Chaos Warriors armed with Hand-weapons and Shields. Originally he was sharing a 50mm base with one of the wolves that accompany the warriors into battle. While having him on such a large base looked great, the issues that came up relating to challenges etc prompted a change. Now he and his wolf both have their own bases and an extra warrior has been painted to fill in the 25mm gap created as a result of the re-basing process.

It's that time of year again. Once more I find myself writing an article centred around getting my Warriors of Chaos army painted and ready for the Tricksters Blade Tournament held by my own club Kingaroy Wargamers. This year it's being held on the 5th Saturday of September and is scheduled to be a single day event with armies capped at 2400 points.
So far, the picture above includes all the painted elements of my Chaos army that I intend to use in the tournament. In addition to these units, I also intend to run:
Unit of Chosen
Unit of Warriors with Shields
Admittedly there's not much of an army there (though there never really is with Chaos), but after watching it perform on the table, I know it hits like a freight train when it gets to grip with the enemy. The real challenge will be seeing if I can get the mini's on that list above painted and based before the tournament. At least the Chaos Lord, BSB, Warriors and Chosen have all been started, making my job a little easier.
Before I go, I just wanted to add a pic of my latest mini-project for my WoC. This fellow is being used as a small unit filler in my Chosen, one of three that will be present in the unit.
With his completed, that's another 2 members of the unit painted and accounted for, making the unit 66% complete.
Miniatures Painted: 36
Points of Painted Warriors: 240 pts

As I mentioned in my previous post, last week had me laid out with the flu, resulting in very little hobby progress being made. What I didn't mention is that the entire experience could have perhaps been avoided entirely had additional thought been applied to the situation by other parties.
Anyone who has seen any sort of zombie / pandemic type movie will be able to accurately tell you that infection is spread through contact between diseased and non-diseased elements. For example - Zombie bites healthy norm, norm dies and turns into zombie and zombie apocalypse ensues. Applying this to a real-world situation then, if I was suffering from any sort of infectious disease like the flu, typhoid or perhaps mono, really, it is my ethical responsibility as a human being to ensure I minimise exposure to healthy individuals and there-by reduce the potential of infecting others. It is concerning though, that there are many individuals found within our society that don't share the same sense of duty and constantly feel that it's OK to become the very embodiment of Nurgle, gleefully spreading pestilence and disease to all and sundry, with not even friends and family safe from their corrupting touch. It should be stated plainly and simply here that THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!
Next time you're sick, stop and think for a second, a minute or even a full 30 mins if you feel it's necessary - are you really well enough to be considered "Fit for Gaming"??
